Sacramento Republic FC over the past few weeks has selected a series of development firms that will construct the team’s planned, 20,000-seat stadium in the Railyards district. Moorefield Construction, the team said Wednesday, will serve as the project’s general contractor. The firm managed stadium improvements for Major League Baseball’s Athletics ahead of the team’s temporary move to West Sacramento, and renovated Hughes Stadium at Sacramento City College in 2013. Republic FC played its first four home matches in club history at Hughes Stadium before relocating to Cal Expo.
