The River District is a private, non-profit business association charged with managing and promoting programs to strengthen the economic and cultural well being of the area. Under the umbrella of the River District is the River District PBID (Property Based Business Improvement District), the River District Community Foundation, and the River District Neighborhood Association. This page contains all the governing documents related to the organization.

Developed by a growing coalition of property and business owners, the River District Property and Business Improvement District, formerly known as the Capitol Station District, (District) is a benefit assessment district whose purpose is to provide services which specially benefit assessed parcels in the River District.

The renewed District will continue to provide services above and beyond those furnished by the City of Sacramento, for the direct benefit of assessed parcels. As required by state law, property owners have created this Management District Plan (Plan) to renew the District.

The River District Specific Plan establishes planning and design standards for the redevelopment of approximately 773 acres of land located at the confluence of the American and Sacramento Rivers, north of the downtown core of the City of Sacramento.
