SUMMARY:Earth Day Clean-Up
DESCRIPTION:Sacramento residents are encouraged to get outside\, connect with their community and help beautify local parks and waterways during a series of citywide volunteer events on Saturday\, April 11. \nFrom picking up litter to planting and mulching\, these efforts offer a hands-on way to support neighborhood green spaces while getting a head start on Earth Day celebrations. \nEvents will be hosted from 9 a.m. to noon and are open to individuals\, families and community groups. In addition to trash pick-up at all sites\, several locations will offer opportunities for planting\, mulching\, and other landscaping projects. \n“Earth Day is a great reminder that small actions can make a big difference in our community\,” said Sarah Kolarik\, the City’s Sustainability Specialist. “These volunteer events are an opportunity to connect with our neighbors and care for the parks and waterways that make Sacramento a great place to live.” \nAmong the locations this year\, is Matsui Waterfront Park\, home to the Hanami Line\, here in the River District. \nVolunteers will pick up trash in Matsui Park and along the Sacramento River Bike Trail.\n\nSnacks and refreshments will be provided. All tools and supplies will be provided. Disposable gloves and trash pickers will be available\, but volunteers are encouraged to bring these items if possible. Please dress for the weather\, wear closed-toe shoes\, and bring a reusable water bottle.\n\nThis Earth Day event is made possible through the partnership of the City of Sacramento Climate Action & Sustainability Team\, YPCE\, Department of Utilities (DOU)\, Recycling and Solid Waste\, and the Community Engagement Team\, and CERT. The City would like to thank the Museum of Science and Curiosity (MOSAC) for partnering to make this event possible.

Reggae fusion causing reggae con-fusion? Think Rebellution\, Slightly Stoopid\, and Sublime mixed with Van Morrison\, Jack Johnson\, and The Avett Brothers. \nRSB was formed from the father-son duo of Norm and Rod Stinson\, and grew to include an amazing drummer/singer\, slapping bass\, and a horn section. RSB has played shows supporting Through the Roots\, E.N Young\, and many other touring acts as well as local favorites. Over the years\, RSB has released two EPs and has been featured at Sacramento venues\, Fairs and festivals\, and was even featured as the halftime show of a Sacramento Kings NBA basketball game in 2022! \nCurrently\, the band is continuing to record and release singles and playing shows. Notable performances include The Sacramento Kings (halftime and pre-game shows)\, The California State Fair\, POPS in the Park\, The Starlet Room at Harlow’s\, Fourth on the Field at Sutter Health Park (The West Sacramento River Cats stadium)\, the Brewfest at Sutter Health Park\, and many other festivals throughout the Northern California area.

Every one of us in the band grew up listening to some of the greatest bands of the era: Nirvana\, Green Day\, blink-182\, Stone Temple Pilots\, Weezer\, Foo Fighters\, Sublime… and so many more that not only helped shape us as musicians\, but an entire generation of music lovers. \nThe Seedy Burners live experience is an intentional effort by our band to evoke the timeless experiences of our youth where we would listen to hard hitting rock and grunge\, meticulously curating our playlists on to custom burnt CDs and sharing them with friends… and then belting out your favorite songs\, full blast\, not a care of who’s listening or watching\, just being in the moment with your friends!
